About Anna
My path into somatic work took the scenic route. I spent years studying people, systems, and the ways we learn to live in the world, working across continents in organizational culture, employee wellbeing, leadership development, education, and creativity.
For the last decade, I worked as an art and health educator, primarily alongside young people who required complex support. Much of that work was about creating the conditions for people to reconnect with themselves, one relationship at a time.
Across every setting, however, I kept noticing the same thing: we tend to meet people in parts: their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, or symptoms. We try to understand, explain, or change what's happening without always considering the body that has lived it all, and holds it all.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I, too, couldn’t think my way into understanding life. I had to get back into my body.
What brought me home was my own body.
Now, my work lives at the intersection of somatic practice, energy, education, creativity, and our relationship with the living world. Spinal Energetics and Embodied Photography are just two expressions of that work: gentle, powerful, consent-forward practices that invite us to listen to the body without asking it to perform, produce, or become something else.
I offer 1:1 Spinal Energetics sessions, Online - Globally, and In-Person in Vancouver, on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ peoples. I also offer free 15-minute consultations.
If you’re interested in Embodied Photography, feel free to reach out, even if you aren’t sure exactly where you want to go with it.
This work is for people who are curious about what their body already knows, and what might become possible when they begin to listen.
✧ I’m not interested in fixing what was never broken.
✧ I’m interested in what becomes possible when we learn to listen.
If that resonates, welcome home.
How I Work
My work is guided by a belief that presence is a practice, not a performance.
I'm interested in creating conditions where people can meet themselves with a little more honesty, curiosity, and care - without pressure to become anything other than what's already here.
I see identity as relational and evolving, and shaped through body, land, memory, and experience. Rather than offering answers or outcomes, I hold space for noticing, reflection, and meaning-making to emerge over time.
This work values slowness, consent, and attentiveness as ways of resisting urgency, productivity, and self-optimization in favour of something more humane.
On Energy and Resonance
I engage with energy and resonance as subtle forms of listening.
This isn't about diagnosis, fixing, transformation, or predicting the future.
It's about attunement to sensation, mood, rhythm, and what wants attention in the moment.
I work gently and responsively, using structured processes to guide pacing, transitions, and invitations rather than outcomes.
My practices are offered as supportive frameworks for grounding, identifying and processing patterns, and integration, so you can live life well.
